CouldThisWork

Terms of Service

A straightforward agreement for using CouldThisWork responsibly.

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Who provides the service

CouldThisWork is a product and service operated by Conatus LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. In these terms, “CouldThisWork,” “Conatus,” “we,” and “us” refer to Conatus LLC.

These terms form an agreement between you and Conatus LLC. By creating an account, purchasing a paid service, or otherwise using CouldThisWork, you agree to these terms.

Using CouldThisWork

CouldThisWork is a tool for exploring, evaluating, and developing business ideas. You agree to use the service lawfully and responsibly.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account or email secure. Information you provide must be accurate enough for us to operate the service and communicate important notices.

Your ideas and content

You retain ownership of the ideas and content you submit. You give us a limited permission to store, process, and transmit that content only as needed to operate and improve CouldThisWork, including generating Thinking Partner responses.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit does not violate another person’s rights or applicable law.

AI-generated content

The Thinking Partner can be useful, but it can also be incomplete, inaccurate, or confidently wrong. Its responses are suggestions—not professional, legal, financial, tax, medical, or investment advice. You are responsible for evaluating suggestions and making your own decisions.

Structured changes suggested by the AI require your approval before they become part of your saved workspace.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, attempt to access another user’s information, interfere with security or availability, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, automate abusive usage, or use CouldThisWork to violate law or harm others.

Availability and limits

We may change features, introduce reasonable usage limits, or temporarily suspend parts of the service to maintain security and reliability. Free access is not a promise that every feature will remain free or unlimited forever. We will communicate material changes before they take effect when practical.

Optional idea reminders

If you explicitly enable idea reminders, we may email you a short account-level digest containing ideas you saved. You can change the frequency, turn reminders off in Account settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any reminder. Essential account, security, billing, and support communications are separate.

Paid plans and recurring billing

CouldThisWork Plus is offered as a monthly or annual subscription. When you subscribe, you authorize our payment provider, Stripe, to charge the payment method you provide for the price and any applicable taxes shown at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it.

You may cancel through the secure billing portal available from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, so you may continue using paid features until then.

We may change subscription prices or included features prospectively. We will provide reasonable advance notice of a material price change affecting an existing subscription before its next renewal.

One-time research reports

Decision Reports and Opportunity Deep Dives are separate, one-time purchases for a specific saved idea. The scope, price, and any upgrade credit are shown before checkout. Reports use information in that idea’s workspace together with externally researched sources and remain available in the idea’s Library after completion.

Research reports are decision-support tools, not guarantees, professional financial or legal advice, lender-ready business plans, or predictions that an idea will succeed. They may identify important unknowns and recommend that you gather additional real-world evidence.

If generation fails, you may retry the same purchased report without another charge. If we cannot deliver the purchased report after reasonable retry attempts, contact billing support and we will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include a refund.

Refunds and billing questions

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds for unused time, except when required by law. Completed one-time reports are generally non-refundable, but failed or materially undeliverable report orders are eligible for an appropriate remedy. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us promptly so we can investigate. We may provide a refund or credit at our discretion when appropriate; doing so once does not require us to do so again.

Optional support contributions

One-time support contributions are optional, do not change your account plan, and do not purchase additional product benefits. Conatus LLC is not a charitable organization, so these payments are not represented as charitable or tax-deductible donations. Support contributions are generally non-refundable except when required by law or when a payment was made in error.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using CouldThisWork at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risk, legal requirements, or a material violation of these terms.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that an idea will succeed, that AI output will be accurate, or that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Conatus LLC, doing business as CouldThisWork, will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service or reliance on its output.

Changes and questions

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material.
